Details

  1. The Family Resource Center at Landmark Hill in Kittery, Maine is a non-profit organization that offers resources for families in the Greater Seacoast & provides a safe, fun environment for families to connect with other families that live in Maine and New Hampshire.

The Family Resource Center provides these families with weekly playgroups, parenting support groups, parent education and other family-related services as part of a shared goal to grow and strengthen our community.

  2. Located just off Norton Street in South Berwick, the Shoe Town Playground is designed for children under 5 years of age.  Built by the South Berwick Children's Leadership Council, it filled a void discovered at a community forum held in 1997.  The forum was for the people of the town to discuss just what they saw as the biggest needs for children and families.  The playground was a gift to the town from the Children's Leadership Council.  It is used by families from  South Berwick and many outlying areas.
  3. Communities for Children and Youth is a statewide initiative of the Maine's Children's Cabinet designed to create a partnership between state government and local communities as they work to prevent poor outcomes for children and youth and promote positive child and youth development.  The KEYS communities of Kittery, Eliot, York and South Berwick have each developed their own Communities for Children and Youth under the state's model.  These committees are known as Children's Leadership Councils.
  4. Expansion of Recreation Programs for younger kids. Increased cultural opportunities for young children.
  5. Parenting programs offered by schools and KEYS of Promise.
