Child & Family Vision Statement
We envision a community that promotes and provides a loving, safe, and healthy environment for individuals working with and raising young children, including adoptive parents, step parents, foster parents, child care professionals and extended families.
Goals (5-10 Years)
A. By 2010 families of all ages, socio-economic levels, ethnicities, and backgrounds will report feeling supported within the KEYS region/community.
- Families recognize the rewards and responsibilities of raising children.
- Families living safe and healthy lives.
- Children health insurance.
- Young children are immunized.
B. By 2010 all families in the KEYS region, will have access to quality early childhood experiences that are affordable and enriching.
- Families have opportunities for work and play in the community.
- Family Learning and cultural activities.
- Children ready to enter school.
- Family time for recreation and leisure activities.
- Access to child care, satisfied with child care.
C. By 2010 the Family Resource Center will be established in a community space offering parents and caregivers opportunities for parent education, parent support groups, and child care provider trainings.
- The family unit is respected, safe and nurtured within the community.
- Parents involved in parent and child activities with other families.
